Xiaomi just officially pulled back the curtain on the Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro, and the specs sheet is impressive. The headline is the 12T Pro’s 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor, making it one of the very first consumer smartphones to cross the 200-megapixel barrier. For a camera nerd, that is a real milestone, not just a spec war number: the ISOCELL HP1 uses 16-in-1 pixel binning to produce sharp 12.5MP output in most conditions, with full 200MP available for maximum detail shots.

Under the hood, the 12T Pro packs the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the refined, cooler-running revision of Qualcomm’s flagship chip, while the base 12T opts for the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra. Both are paired with a massive 5,000mAh battery and Xiaomi’s industry-leading 120W HyperCharge wired fast charging, capable of a full charge in under 20 minutes.

The 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate rounds out a package that punches well above its mid-premium price point. Xiaomi is targeting the value-flagship sweet spot: maximum hardware for the most competitive price possible.

The 12T series launches in Europe first, with global availability to follow. At a starting price expected around €649 for the 12T, this is shaping up to be one of the most competitive Android launches of Q4 2022.
