Quick one, and a fun one. Snapdragon ran a #MayInMotion series on their official channel, action shots taken on Snapdragon-powered phones, and turned the best ones into downloadable wallpapers. My parasailing shot made the cut, and I am credited right there in the #ShotOnSnapdragon post alongside a few other shooters. Getting picked by Snapdragon themselves never gets old.

Parasailer with a colorful red, yellow, and blue canopy soaring against a cloudy sky, framed by a thatched palapa roof in the foreground

The theme was motion, and the four picks ran the range: my parasailing frame shot from under a thatched roof, a long-exposure night highway streaked with light trails, a lioness mid-roar, and a wakeboarder carving across the water. Four very different shots, one common thread, all captured on Snapdragon. The whole point of the series was that the action shots came from the community, not a studio, which is exactly the kind of thing I like being part of.

Mine is the parasail one: shot looking up and out from under the palapa roof, the dried palm fronds framing the top while the canopy and the rider hang against the sky. That bit of foreground is what makes it work; without the roof, it is just a parachute, with it, you get depth and a sense of place. It’s exactly the kind of grab-it-in-the-moment shot the series was after.

If you want the wallpapers, Snapdragon posted them for download on their channel under the #MayInMotion and #ShotOnSnapdragon hashtags. Grab your favorite and put it on your lock screen.

This is the latest in a run of Snapdragon Insider stuff I have been lucky to be part of, from the Snapdragon and Manchester United partnership to the hardware launches I keep covering here. It is always a good day when a shot ends up as someone’s wallpaper. More soon.
